Back by popular demand: Dinner! Cook a new vegetable dish for your family and/or friends. Find a recipe that uses fresh vegetables (not canned) and create a log of your experience. I made an entire dinner the main corse was Steak and Salad the Steak was a marinade in Salt, Sage, Oregano with some paprika marinaded for 36 hours the flavor was exotic with the flavor popping out. The Salad was kale, spinach, Romain lettuce, onions, and cucumber the dressing was vinegar, olive oil shallots, and red wine vinegar. I run every or try to it is a great way of exercise I tried to run after dinner but after doing it for a while it was hard to keep awake so from now on I have to run after school.

I had a great time cooking my family's meal I now am cooking regularly for our meals. But I found out that I don't have that much time to try to cook, but when things get hard I try to cook it still. I found that if I do my homework right after school I have more time to cook food.

Last night my mom and I made panfried chicken and vegetables. First we puy olive oil in a pan and put small potato chunks, broccoli, cauliflower and slices of chicken. We put it in the oven for 30-40 minutes and voila an easy delicious meal. Afterwards I took my dog on a 15 minute walk and I felt really energized.

I cooked a vegetable frittata with potatoes and baby spinach. I cooked the potatoes, then added the wilted baby spinach. I sprinkled on some cheese and poured on the eggs. I then baked it in the oven. I cooked for my mom on her birthday as a special treat. Exercise included whisking the eggs, pressing the garlic, and slicing potatoes. Afterwards, I did a light cardio workout and some stretching.

I really like pasta dishes+eggplant. So, I decided to make eggplant Parmesan. First, I covered the eggplant in egg, then dipped it in breadcrumbs. Next, i put it in the oven for about 30 mins. Then, I put cheese, tomato sauce and the eggplant in a dish lasagna-style. I baked it for about 37 mins. While it was baking, I made spaghetti. It turned out really good and my parents also really liked it!

My family really likes salad. My brother eats at least a bowl of salad a day. So I made a big bowl of salad for a side dish. I wanted to put the lettuce in a paper shredder to cut it but we didn't have one so we just cut it. It was full of tomatoes, apples, cucumbers and peppers. When I was spinning the lettuce I took off the lid and some fell out. My family was not mad just disappointed. It was pretty good and after we went on a little walk around the neighborhood.

I went to Fred Meyer with my mom and bought Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes. I cut them both into bites, tossed them with olive oil and salt, and put them in the oven. They were really good.

For my dish, I decided to prepare something I'm familiar with: Salmon and asparagus. This meal, while simple, is one of my favorites because I grew up with it. We got our salmon and asparagus from Costco. When The fish was already seasoned when we got it, so all I had to do was put it in the oven, but the asparagus needed some preparation. To get it ready, I cut off about an inch of the stock off of the bottom and rolled them in Italian olive oil and salt. I let the fish cook for a while before I put the asparagus in a pan, because asparagus cooks fairly quickly. When the meal was finished, I gave it to my mom and sister who both really enjoyed it. I'm really glad that I got our food fresh and not precooked or frozen, because I know processed and prepackaged food loses a lot of its natural nutrients.

I made a penne dish, with herbs and tomatoes. My mom and I went to Fred Meyers and bought cherry tomatoes and whole wheat penne pasta. I picked some basil out of the bush in our backyard. I first started boiling water, then put the penne in the boiled water for 10 minutes. I then chopped the tomatoes in half, and chopped up the basil into small pieces. Then I put it all on a plate with Parmesan cheese. It was fun to make because my mom helped. I live close to Fred Meyers so my mom and I walked. I decided to do lunges in my living room every day when I got home for about 15 minutes in a week. It really stretched out my core and my legs.

I made a salad to go with dinner. I used mixed greens and washed them. For the dressing I just used oil and vinegar. I also put in little apple chunks, and cranberries. It was good. My family has that kind of salad a lot, and they all liked it. I would make the salad again, because it is easy and tastes good. The only physical exertion involved was drying the lettuce, because you have to pull the string and it spins the salad, and after a while your arm gets tired.

I decided to make some pizza for my dinner, because my sister was craving it. However, I wasn't about to make normal pizza crust (although I do know how to), I made my families quick pizza speacialty; pita pizza! For pita pizza you need to put pizza topinbgs on pita bread and then stick it in the oven. For the first step of my dinner I went to Newseasons to get my ingrediants. At Newseasons I got a package of pitas, fresh bell peppers, fresh apples, and some meat. Once I got home I took out the tomato suace that we already had and started spreading it on the pitas. Then I sprinkled grated chedder and monzerela cheese on to the 4 mini pizzas I now had assembled. After that I put apple slices and ham onto 2 pizzas ,and peperoni and pepper slices onto the other 2. Finally to finish the pizzas off I sprinkled some more cheese on top of it all. Now that the pizzas were done I stuck them in the oven. We all shared the pizzas as a family and everybody was a huge fan of them.

For my meal iI made bacon wrapped asparagus. The recipe was very simple first you season the asparagus with salt, pepper and olive oil. Next you wrap the asparagus in the bacon and use butchers string to hold it in place the you bake it in the oven for 12 minutes at 400 degrees you can also do this on the grill.

Last week, I cooked pizza for my family. I heated up the pizza oven while I prepared the crust and the sauce. I took the cheese out from the fridge and set it on the cooking block. Once the oven reached 550' F, I rolled out my dough on the floured island in our kitchen. I put the red sauce that we had pre-made the night before on the stove. I sprinkled cheese on, but no pepperoni because my mom is vegetarian, and placed it on the pizza stone. When it was done, I realized how easy it is for me to cook dinner almost every night.

For dinner for my family I made vegetarian burgers.I’m a vegetairian and I feel like vegetable burgers are a great and healthy alternative to burgers. To get the ingredients for the burgers, I rode my bike to the local grocery store. I grabbed locally made veggie burgers, some red lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and buns. After I got home, I started by prepping all the vegetables. I caramelized rings of red onions (that's a tongue twister!) in a pan with some olive oil and salt, pepper, and a little bit of turmeric for extra flavor. Then I put the burgers on the pan with some olive oil, and let them brown on both sides. Then I assembled the burger with the bun, some mustard and ketchup, rings of tomatoes, The caramelized onions, and the the patty. I thought it was a perfect meal for a early spring evening. Veggie burgers are a lot healthier than normal burgers and have tons of vegetables in em’. I think this is a good and wholesome meal to continue making every now and then!

I made cashew noodles with my mom for dinner. I started by walking to my local New Seasons to get ingredients. When I got home I put a pot of water on the stove top to boil while I prepared the vegetables. I shredded carrots, chopped cashews, and cooked my edamame. After my water boiled, I added my buckwheat noodles. I made the cashew sauce that was made of cashews soy sauce and sesame seeds. Everyone loved this dish. It was delicious and healthy!

I made potato salad without mayonnaise, we used red potatoes, onions, shallots, lemon juice, and parsley we boiled the potatoes then cut them in half. When we were done we tossed all the ingredients together and served it.

The dish I cooked for my family was my favorite kale salad. It tastes sort of like a Cesar salad but has different dressing. It has chopped garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and Parmesan in it. I chopped up the kale into small lines and tossed it all together. We ate almost the entire thing between us and we all liked it. Next time, I will use more lemon juice.

My dish was a vietnamese styled prawn and manga salad. This dish includes prawns, mango, carrots, bean sprouts, chinese cabbage, cucumbers, and mint and coriander leaves, peanuts. The dresses is homemade and made of lime juice, a little bit of brown sugar, ginger, fish sauce, sesame oil, and red birdeye chili. First I have to cut all the ingredients and prep, then boil prawns and peel their skin. Secondly, I mix the salad and cut prawns in bowl. Third, I make the dressing by combining their ingredients then drizzle it over the salad and top it off with crushd peanuts.

i have not really made any so called "healthy" dinners for my family. i have helped make some pasta, but that was about it. my experience was good only because of the pasta that i got to eat.

I am not very good when it comes to cooking, as I often manage to read only half of the instructions before burning it all... unless I am lucky. My sister, on the other hand, loves to cook. Or at least she enjoys the idea of it. So, when I recruited her to help me make "Ravioli and Tomato Salad with Masses of Basil", she was all hands on board. We lugged this giant cook-book called "Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone" by Deborah Madison off a shelf and set to work. The ingredients for this pasta dish are:

Part One: I decided to make my family pumpkin pie. This, as in assignment number one, consisted entirely out of ingredients we already had around the house. This is because it mostly consisted of squash. Pumpkin pie consists of squash, which in order to get I had to chop open a pumpkin and then seed it. I would not recommend seeding a pumpkin. This is because it created a very large mess. To make the squash not so hard, I let it go in the oven for a bit, while I made the pie crust. To do that, I just microwaved some flour and butter, and then put it into a pie pan, where I squashed it around with the tips of my fingers so it would make the shape I wanted. After that, I put the pie in the oven, and then started to make the main part of the pie. That is basically just mashing the now softened squash, and adding sugar, salt, and everything else that could make squash taste good. (Like for instance, Cumin, or ginger, or allspice.) I also added some homemade yogurt, which my mom had already made, seeing as how it is such a common ingredient.I mixed that together, then put it into the pie crust, where I put it into an oven for about an hour. I didn't remember to get a picture of it, nor would I know how to attach that to an email, but it tasted great. I would probably do it again.

I decided today I wanted bread. then I remembered I had to do this assignment. so I asked my mom if we could make croutons and salad and she was like "sure!" so we got bread chopped it up, then got oil and threw in some herbs. we then drizzled the oil/herb mix onto the bits of bread and put them in the oven. next we chopped lettuce. we spun that and made the secret Caesar salad dressing. we got the half-baked croutons out sprinkled some Parmesan and popped them back in the oven. we dressed the salad and put it on the table. then we put the croutons in a bowl sprinkled em' on, and voila! Caesar salad with croutons

My mom and I went to Market of Choice and bought some potatoes. We only needed potatoes because we had all the other ingredients. WE decided to make a simple dish of mashed potatoes. Everyone loved them because my mom and I added some special ingredients...We added 2-3 cloves of fresh garlic or 1 ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ cup sour cream and ½ cup Parmesan cheese! My family loved them and so did I!

I made a garlic, parmesan, kale pasta for my family. First I put on a pot of noodles to boil, then I began to cook bits of kale in a frying pan. I did this by first heating the skillet and adding in olive oil, butter, and minced garlic. I let that sit until the garlic was soft and letting off a strong aroma, and then added the kale. After the pasta had been drained and the kale was done cooking, I mixed them together and added generous amounts of cheese, before serving it to my family.

I "made" pasta for dinner. Well, I helped. I mainly just helped make the Italian meat sauce and cutting the garlic. It also had tomatoes in it and parmesan. That's pretty much it.

For my second meal, I made a tofu stir fry. I added browned onions, along with sliced cauliflower. On top of that, we added bell pepper. And, of course, the tofu. This was all cooked in a sauce. The sauce was a mixture of soy sauce, fish sauce, curry paste, and some spices. We also had rice. The rice was for putting the stir fry on top of. We got most of the ingredients from a couple of delivered boxes of produce we get. The ingredients for the sauce, however, were straight from our cabinet.

I made a sandwich. I made it with whole wheat bread and cheese and lettuce. I got everything from Walmart. I put the cheese under the lettuce. I toasted the bread first and put butter on it. It tasted good. It was pretty easy to make, until I realized it was a family meal. I had make six more. That part was annoying. I also ran out of bread.

I steamed up some broccoli. I loved cooking for the family because I have never done it before. My family has veggies every night and we have steamed broccoli a lot of the time. I noticed that the broccoli was more stiff before but now it is soft and chewier.

On Wednesday, I cooked a roasted vegetable casserole dish with my mom, for the rest of my family. There were several fresh, sliced veggies used including a bell pepper, 2 zucchinis, Yukon Gold potatoes, an onion, and a 1/2 pound fresh tomatoes. First, my mom and I went to the store to purchase the veggies and other ingredients that we didn't have. When we got home around 5:30, we chopped all the ingredients, seasoned accordingly with thyme, garlic, olive oil, and salt & pepper, then laid them down on a greased baking pan in ordered layers. Before putting it in a pre-heated oven, we topped it with grated Parmesan, then covered the pan with foil to let it bake for 40 mins. During that time, my family and I watched our favorite show, and used some yoga poses to stretch. We took out the entree, and sat down to eat. It was delicious! The seasonings were amazing and the veggies had a really good texture. I was extremely satisfied with the work we had put into this dish.

After our veggie dinner, my family and I went for a very pleasant walk around the block with my dog. I had planned to do the dinner assignment on Wednesday, but I started walking with my dog after our meal a week before. Over the weekend, going for a walk had slipped my mind. But the days I did do it, it left me feeling fulfilled and guiltless before bed. Even after the assignment was over on Wednesday, I still went for post-meal walks.

I made salsa out of tomatoes, cilantro, onions, and jalepanoes for my family. I did all the cutting which took about half an hour and caused my arms to get pretty tired. My family said it was good and they liked it. I walked a little way to the store after school. I also tasted it and thought it was good as well. I hope to make it in the future again. I did walk after eating as well and sometimes jogged. I might stary walking or jogging after dinner more often.

Me and my dad occasionally make our favorite recipe of salad that includes of bok choy (as the main ingredient), garlic, salt, and thats about it. We did not have to go to the store since we already had all the ingredients we needed. Today I will share with you how I made it and how it turned out.
