Refined foods are said to cause health problems. Some refined foods include white flour, white sugar, and processed snack foods. Healthy, unrefined alternatives include whole grains, all vegetables, nuts, eggs, fish, meat, and unsweetened nut butters. Please list a refined food item that you eat on a regular basis. I ate a lot of refined sugar over the break, because we made so many cookies. Instead of making our last cookies with refined sugar, we used sugar in the raw, which was way more sweet and I liked the texture better. It felt way lighter and less processed, just based on the look. I could see and feel the difference, as the cookies seemed way lighter and also tasted better, because they were so much less processed. I would continue to eat sugar in the raw, and even putting it in a drink at Starbucks seemed to sweeten it up with less that regular white sugar.

My favorite refined food is ice cream. I love the sweet smooth vanilla as well as strawberry and chocolate. It tastes so good during any season. So I decided to try and give it up for a little while. When I would normally eat ice cream I started eating frozen mango. It is sweet and cold like ice cream, but a much healthier alternative. I get terrible migraines at least once a month and eating frozen mango helped relieve a bit of the pain. I also felt so much better during the day after I ate it. I think I’m going to continue eating frozen mango.

As an alternative to the mentioned refined foods, I will try my best to digest more vegetables and meats (particularly white) among my daily meals. I can't say I regularly eat refined foods, but I can tell that it will help reduce my stress and improve my condition if I stick to non-refined foods most of the time. This practice will definitely improve my state of mind and help balance my physical diet.

Some of my favorite refined food items are ice cream and pretzels. I have been eating frozen fruit instead of ice cream when I crave something cold and sweet. I personally think frozen fruit is amazing because it is refreshingly cold, but also has the ordinary sweetness and tartness of fresh fruit. Instead of pretzels I'll start eating nuts or even just cutting back on after school snacks altogether.

sometimes I eat CUP-A-NOODLES for dinner because it is one of my favorite refined foods. but instead for the last couple nights I have been eating my moms carrot and potato soup. It has a lot of nutritional value while CUP-A-NOODLES doesn't have any. I feel like I should just continue eating my moms soup instead because it may not taste as good but it is a lot better for you.

I don't eat a lot of refined food already, but once in a while we eat a Chinese desert called tang yuan which has plenty of refined food in it, including sesame, fat, loads of sugar and sticky rice flour. This is a very special desert that we have once a month, so I don't want to stop eating it, but as a compromise, I will try to eat less products containing refined foods. I'll eat more fruits and nuts for after school snacks instead of crackers and other quick processed snacks, and make sure to watch how much refined food I process from now on. This will probably help me with my attitude and help me think things through more easily.

I eat a lot of tortilla chips, they're some of my fave refined foods. This week I replaced them with some "natural multigrain chips" that had quinoa, flax seeds, and other seedy-sounding stuff that I can't remember. They were actually really good and I think they're better than the tortilla chips than we were getting originally! I want to keep on getting them if my siblings don't beat me to it... ( haha I'll never let them those things are tasty ) My mom also tried to make me eat this weird seedy bread though, but it was quite frankly quite disgusting so we had to had to settle for chips.

I dont always eat refined foods, but i would say some of the most refined foods i eat are candy, refined meat, and just microwavable foods in general. After a week of not eating candy and most microwavable foods I a little bit better. I would rather have a wholesome meal then any candy. The organic foods that i ate tasted better than the refined foods. I overall felt better and liked the taste of organic foods.

Something I often eat are chips. Be they tortilla chips, potato chips, or any other type. I really like chips. But, for this assignment, I decided to steer off of chips to nuts. My mother as a cholesterol-related disease, so she eats pistachios instead of chips, so we always have a steady supply of those. For about a week, whenever I was craving salt, I would instead have some pistachios. They taste great and are fairly healthy. After the week, I felt significantly better, and now eat pistachios instead of chips. Bye, chips. It was fun while it lasted.

The refined food I didn't eat for a few days were noodles. The substitute I used was 12 grain bread, potatoes and farrow. Staying away from noodles made me realize just how frequently noodles are part of a meal. The thing I like about noodles is that there are so many choices of what to put on them, for instance, pesto, red sauce, feta cheese, or parmesan. I did not feel any different, but I would imagine that if i didn't eat noodles for a longer amount of time, I would feel different. Over all, this was an interesting assignment, I ended up eating healthier meals.

I really like bread or any floury gluten snack I can get my hands on. To put this in perspective: I had a flour tortilla with nutella spread on it last week (and that's even the worst of it). Luckily, my father is a wonderful cook, and for the last week he has been making wonderful stir fries instead. They include bean sprouts, kale (from our garden), ginger, and chicken. These are a delicious way to eat a bunch of raw unrefined foods, and after only a few days I felt pretty happy and healthy. Though I will probably never give up all of the refined food I eat, I noticed that the healthier options make me feel more wholesome and fulfilled than all the other junk I consume.

When I get home from school I usually like to eat some chips. I like how they are crunchy and salty. Instead of eating chips I decided to replace it with a pear. The pear was sweet and crunchy, and I liked it a lot. Instead of shoving pieces into my mouth like I did with chips, I ate each piece more slowly to savor the flavor. Overall the pear was more satisfying to eat and I'm glad I ate the pear instead of chips.

For mine, I realized I eat a lot of chips and ice cream. So, instead of chips, I had an apple or some other type of fruit. I really liked having more fruit because it made me feel a lot healthier. And instead of ice cream, I would have a frozen fruit, or at least a sorbet. It was really good and also refreshing. I definitely am going to try to keep doing this!

The other day, when I wanted chips, I looked in the kitchen and saw if there was anything else. I grabbed apple and peanuts because my dad mentioned they go together well. I found it hard to think of something because so much stuff is refined, like bread. I didn't feel that different but it was nice to have a change of pace. I might not stay completely away from refined foods I'll try to make it better just because it's better for me.

My favorite refined food is white flour. I don't really eat that much refined or processed food but I do like bagels, donuts, cookies, etc. I decided to eat whole wheat for a few days. Instead of white flour buns I used whole wheat buns for my breakfast sandwiches. They tasted good but not great. They were harder, crustier, and less flavorful than white bread. I didn't feel any different after switching to whole wheat, but I would be willing to sacrifice taste for health more often.

My big weakness is chocolate soy milk. While most people don’t think soy milk is “bad”, I have since found out that there is a lot of processing that happens with chocolate soy milk. For one, a lot of the soy beans used are genetically modified. Also sugar is usually the second or third ingredient. And finally, carrageenan (seaweed) that is used as a thickener is usually heavily processed. I drink a lot of chocolate soy milk (I have a lot of food allergies - nuts, eggs, and dairy- so this is kind of my treat). What I did instead was substitute water for chocolate milk. I think this is actually better for me. I feel better and now I routinely put a bottle of water in the refrigerator, so I can have ice cold water whenever I feel the need for chocolate milk. It’s worked out well and I’ve cut down on drinking chocolate soy milk a lot!

I eat whole grains on a daily basis. My favorite unrefined food is eel. I love the taste of it. On rice, with seaweed wrapped around. Dipped in soy sauce with wasabi. What's better than that? The unrefined food item is fish.

My favorite refined food item might have to just ramen or noodles. Though I already don’t eat them as often since I’m not normally hungry a lot of the time. I’ll have them once or twice a week, then take a break from them for at least two weeks if not more. I don’t replace them with anything, but I’ll just make some steamed Vegetables or have a sandwich instead of them. Sometimes I’ll feel like having them then just end up not eating them. So I prefer to save them for when I REALLY want them.

I drink a lot of tea, and I use white sugar to sweeten it. Since the white sugar is refined I tried using honey instead , which isn’t refined. After using that for a few days, the honey made my stomach feel a lot better. I think I’ll continue using honey instead of sugar. The honey and sugar taste the same, but the honey has health benefits.

My favorite refined food item is potato chips. I like their salty crispness and assorted other flavors. As a replacement for potato chips I tried corn chips that use the whole corn and are ground on lava stones with homemade guacamole. So far I have been feeling a whole lot better after eating the corn chips versus the potato chips.

The main refined food I eat trying to stay away from everything bad for health is just bread I love the taste of fresh bread that is warm but I try to not eat it so I resort to lots and lots of nuts anything is fine and that really helps my cravings.

One refined food I eat a lot is toast with cinnamon and sugar. Everytime I was going to eat toast I had a smoothie. The smoothies were pretty tasty, I might start having smoothies more often. I felt better about my choices having a smoothie I also feel healthier. I think that toast with cinnamon and sugar should be a treat I have every once and a while not all the time.

My friend has refined penut butter at his house, so I tried it in a samwitch at his house for lunch one day. It was really good. For one it was really soft and creamy, and secondly it was really sugary and sweet. In the following week I had my home, non-refined penut butter for lunch. It was less sweet and less smooth, but it seemed to sustain me for a bit longer. However, if I had to choose, I'd go with the refined penut butter.

Refined foods have such a wonderful experience that comes with eating them. Chips for example, are so light and crispy, with such a salty, sodium-filled flavor that you just can't get from baking thinly sliced veggies or eating a handful of nuts. Though for a few days in my week I did put away my urge for Doritos and replaced it with...salted nuts. The health benefits of doing so are apparent, but I still felt unsatisfied after each snack. There wasn't any of the airy-ness that comes with a chip, and I overall didn't think it was worth it.

Normally for breakfest I have a bag of chips since I don't have enough time to eat, so I satarted to wake up early and make some eggs, I used brown eggs instead of the mom popular and cheeper white eggs. Me and my mom got them at new seasons instead of a place like costco or something.

I love ice cream or milkshakes. Cookie dough ice cream with chocolate sauce on top is my weakness. But i decided to try having some fruit or a smoothie instead. So i made a smoothie to see how i would feel. I love smoothies, i love adding various fruits such as mango, strawberrys, bannanas, blueberrys and almost any other frozen fruit. I really love strawberry and mango smoothies. I really enjoy adding orange juice and sometimes yogurt. After drinking a smoothie i feel so energetic and healthy, i love the feeling after drinking smoothies because you feel so healthy and good about yourself.

I live in a low income family, so must of what we eat are refined foods. I'm not sure what my favorite refined food is because I have it so much. However, my mom and I decided that as an attempt to get healthier we were both going to try to cut out refined sugar from our diet for a few weeks. We aren't very far in right now, but already I've noticed that I feel so much healthier and more awake when I reach for an apple instead of a piece of candy. I don't know if completely cutting refined sugar is very realistic, but it's been really awesome having the experience of learning first hand about the benefits of healthy eating and I definitely plan to incorporate a lot of the things I've learned back into my every day diet.

My parents like our family to be very healthy, so most of what we eat is refined foods. I did substitute sugar for a week and after the experiment, I feel much healthier and I noticed my skin feels a lot better. I plan to continue this challenge until I cant anymore.

I love to eat snack foods like pretzels and chips so instead of eating pretzels I ate some orange or apples. recently we have been getting lots and lots of fruits which has been great. I really loved eating fruit because instead of eating something salty I would eat something sweet which is nice. I probably will eat more fruit and less snacks in the future.

Some of my favorite refined foods are potato chips, and other salty foods. Which I love because their salty, but I know their not good for you, so instead of having chips and salty food, I had whole wheat pieces of a baguette, it's still not the healthiest, but it is better then eating a bunch of junk. It was better for me, maybe not my taste buds, so instead of adding butter I added a more healthier way to give it flavor. I put olive oil on it. It delicious and its better for me.

My favorite refined food is white bread. I'll usually make myself a sandwich with it. I like that it's soft and the kind we get has honey in the dough so it's sweet at the same as savory. Instead of white bread I ate wheat bread. I accually already eat wheat bread just not as often and usually make a peanut butter, Honey, and banana sandwich. If I had to choose between them I would chose wheat bread because I like the kind of sandwiches that I make. (peanut butter, honey, and banana).

One refined food i eat on a daily basis is white rice. White rice is usually the main portion in vietnamese home dishes. I also tend to eat a lot of chips and snacks when i get home and watching tv for example. To replace these refine foods my family has substituted white rice with brown, and the snacks i typically would eat is replaced by fruits such as apples. I don’t really feel a huge difference with the change, although i do feel healther knowing this is much better for my body.

So I find myself eating popsicles a lot. They aren't the healthiest so I tried to find a better option. Instead of eating those sugary pops, I froze some fruit. I put grapes, oranges, and mangos in the freezer (in a container). After a while, they froze and became little popsicles; and they were quite good. I loved how fresh they were. And they were really fun to eat.

I find myself adding sugar to my coffee almost every morning. My mom uses these stevia things and I'm wanting to try them since i'm wanting to and trying to cut back on most sugars, Instead of sweetened creamer I just use half and half for example. Though, when I can, I eat a lot of fish and quite a lot of red and white meat.

This is late but my favorite refined food is chips. I do not usually eat this every day but I eat them more frequently than other kinds of refined foods. I however was not able to find an alternative food to eat otherwise but did eat less refined food all together. The unrefined foods included soup, fish or salad for dinner or lunch.

I love egg noodle and wheat pasta, even though it is not as good for you. We had pasta for dinner one night, but replaced it with whole wheat pasta. I still tasted really good and I would eat it again.It may not have been as good as what I'm used to, but a lot healthier. All I added was a little salt and olive oil.

My weakness is chocolate. Sugary, dark commercial chocolate is the best thing in the world! My mom is vegan, so she usually eats a lot of unrefined foods. Recently, she made vegan chocolates with cocoa powder, bananas, maple syrup, and coconut. It wasn't completely unrefined, but it was pretty close. I found myself reaching for those more often, because they're super dark and rich so I don't need as much as I would normally eat, which is nice.

I candy most days. It normally has a lot of sugar and bad stuff for your body. This week instead of eating candy I would bring fruit or veggie snacks. I now feel a little bit different eating the other, more healthier snacks. Now I will probably go for the fruit more often than the candy.

I really like to eat pretzel sticks and tortilla chips. I enjoy them both because they are salty and have a good texture. For three weeks I ate unprocessed fruit bars as a replacement for the pretzels. Instead of replacing a food item for the tortilla chips I decided to eat them a lot more often with salsa and usually went through a whole container of salsa a day by doing that. I didn't feel very different by doing that but I probably had some benefits that I haven't noticed.

And i have struggled for many years of uncontrollably just binge eating it , but lately due to me changing my diet patterns and drinking more water it appeals to me less. I still eat chips and stuff like that i haven't banished it from my home but i find my self eating more things like almonds without thinking about it.

I decided that for a week, whenever I wanted an after school snack I would go to Whole Foods or wait until I get home and have a piece of fruit. Ive had noticeably more energy and focus for things like homework, sports, theatre, etc.

I dont eat unhealthy foods very often but, my favorite "refined" food is definitely those big thicc Cheetos, y'know the ones that are almost like neon orange. like i said i dont eat unhealthy foods so much, so my favorite healthy thing is probably just plain hazelnuts cause they have a nice crunch, they taste good and they dont make you feel gross and greasy.

The refined food was flour. Flour is in many of the baked goods I eat. That ranges from bread to cookies. Instead of snacks with flour, I ate oats. For breakfast I had oatmeal, and for snacks I had granola bars. I didn't really feel a difference, except remembering that I hate oatmeal.

I really like raw spinach for whatever reason, it doesn't taste that good but I can get it down my throat without vomiting, and it makes me feel like I've balanced my unhealthy diet out for the day when I have it. After having it consistently for about a week my insides kind of hurt probably because my digestive system isn't strong enough for all that but it gave me the mindset of a healthy person and that's all that really matters.

The food item that is bad of mine is powdered donuts cause it reminds me of my childhood and i decided to substitute it for plain old carrots. After only eating the carrots instead it felt different becuase it didnt fill me up as much as the donuts do. But after eating the Carrots ive been eating them more now and not eating the donuts as much.

My favorite refined food is probably pop tarts. I decided to substitute in oranges because they are so healthy and they are really delicious. after a few days of not eating pop tarts I felt healthier, and more happy. It was a very mild change but I felt better. I plan on eating and expanding my variety of foods eaten, I hope that i can live a long healthy life.

My favorite refined food that i always eat are saltines. I switched the out for apple slices. After just one day I was sad because we had three boxes of saltine just sitting in the cabinet and all i could do was look at them. I hope that over time I will have more self control because after a week I just at a bag saltines without even thinking about what I was doing. :(

I sometimes eat chips and it wouldn't make me feel that well. So instead of eating some chips I ate a rice cake with almond butter. I started to feel energized and happy. It wasn't very hard to change what I ate so that was good. I think I might start eating more almond butter and rice cakes from now on so that I feel better and have more energy.

A refined food I like are mike and ikes, although they are unhealthy they are still really good to eat. refined food is food that has been made in a lab for it to taste the perfect way, that's why so many people buy it and eat it.

My favorite refined food, I’d say used to be all things sweet. I would eat something sweet every chance I got, so you can only Imagine what that was doing to my teeth. When my mom and I pledged to cut out sugar because of the effects it was having on us, It was hard, but I feel alot better now. Whenever I eat something sweet now, I get a headache, which probably because my body isn’t used to it anymore.
