You can do many things to help your heart. You can do cardio exercises like running, jumping jacks, and other things. You can eat healthy and cut down on junk foods. You can do breathing exercises to calm yourself down when you get stressed so your heart rate lowers. That is just three things among the many, many things you can do to help your heart stay healthy.

Exercise daily can help the heart, as well as prevent/lessen the chance of heart disease. Heart exercises can lower cholesterol levels as well as body weight. Cardio exercises include walking, running, and even biking. These activities are designed to get the heart rate up. https://wa.kaiserpermanente.org/healthAndWellness/?item=/common/healthAndWellness/conditions/heartDisease/exerciseBenefit.html

I read an article called Five Amazing Facts About The Human Heart. I learned that eating healthy and doing things like yoga and meditation can help your heart by reducing stress levels. Also laughter helps. Basically just taking good care of your body and having an active life will be very good for your heart. I leaned that heart attacks are the biggest killer of men and women, so you should really avoid smoking and eating unhealthily.

I found a website called:5 things To Do Daily To Keep Your Heart Healthy. I learned that we need certain fats in our body, NOT trans fat! I leaned that if you eat the right amount of fat, your heart will be stronger. I also learned that you shouldn't be sitting for too long for each day. Your heart needs to be active, not all cooped up inside. Get enough sleep! I learned that if you don't, you will be at higher risk of getting cardiovascular disease no matter your age or other health habits.

My website had multiple different things about whats bad for your heart and a lot of it surprised me. The article said that sitting around all day can affect blood flow even if you exercise daily and being alone for a really long time without contact to family and friends effects your health. a lot of research shows that people who contact friends frequently have happier and healthier lives. This one was strange to me because I love being alone when I can help it, being alone makes me calmer.

Heart health can all start with eating the right things, stuff with not so much salt and thing that will help benifit your heart, veggies in example. Also drinking lots of water. When you drink lots of water it helps clear all the blockage in your lungs and also makes you feel better. Doing some exersise can help you heart benifit by having you heart rate go up at a safe rate. Heart helth is important and if you dont take care of you heart now it will be very bad as you get older.

Dr. Dennis Finkielstein from Beth israel medical center made a video on 5 heart healthy things you can do that I watched. One of the most important things he said you can do is exercise. He recommends exercising 5-7 days a week for 30 minutes to an hour. This helps elevates your heart rate which is important. Everyday I walk my dog which elevates my heart rate because I do more of a jog

I learned many new things about having a healthy heart, one being that seven or more hours of sleep can help your heart by decreasing it's amount of work. Being active can also help maintain a healthy heart, it decreases bad cholesterol and can reduce stress, which is bad for your heart. Having a healthy heart also has benefits, for instance: you would have more energy, be more relaxed, and even live longer. Here is a link to a website that includes a lot of helpful information:

Heart health is exreamly important because the heart is probably one of the most important organs in your body. To keep your heart healthy you can do lots. You need to eat health, exercise, manage your stress, dont smoke or do drugs and staying at a healthy weight. Try not to put too much stress on your heart, and when eating bad it makes your heart less healthy. Since your heart keeps alot of your organs alive and is quite important you might want to keep it healthy, and alive. Some of the best exercises you can do are running, walking or really just staying active and not just sitting on the couch.

I know, not from a video but from working with a trainer, that one of the best things you can do for your heart is exercise your cardio-vascular system. Any physical activity that gets blood pumping and your heart racing is good for your heart health. For example, running, swimming, and walking are all great ways to exercise your heart, but if that doesn't sound like much fun, you can also get a good cardio workout through dancing, hula-hooping, and jump-roping too.

A healthy diet and lifestyle are your best weapons to fight cardiovascular disease. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity or 75 minutes of vigorous physical activity – or an equal combination of both – each week. Limit saturated fat, trans fat, sodium, red meat, sweets and sugar-sweetened beverages. Choose fiber-rich whole grains for most grain servings. Avoid foods containing partially hydrogenated vegetable oils to reduce trans fat in your diet.

Some ways you can improve your heart health are very simple. For starters you can increase the amount of cardiovascular exercise you get. Another way is to eat a more heart healthy diet. You can also try and avoid fried, fatty and fast food. Another really good way is actually to relax and "de-stress." I got this information from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdP9Dv9-vGA

To keep your heart healthy, you need a healthy diet. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, of course. Don't eat a ton of carbohydrates like white bread, white rice, potatoes, red meat, and soda or other sugar-sweetened beverages. Get healthy protein from fish, nuts, poultry, and beans. Not only is this healthy for your heart, it's a healthy diet in general.

For this assignment I watched a video by howcast called 5 ways to improve your heart health | Heart disease. The video can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdP9Dv9-vGA. They're number one reason is to get more exercise per day, a bit more than half an hour with an increased heart rate. Howcast also suggests eating less fried food, fatty food, and fast food, or “the 3 F’s. They’re third and fourth suggestions was to just see your doctor more often and use your medications often so I feel like these ones were more directed to people who already had heart problems. This video was kinda helpful because it told me that I was getting enough exercise and that I should eat a more mediterranean diet.

I hear that eating less meat, dairy, and eggs are the most contributing factor of preventable heart disease and even many cancers. This is because even though humans are naturally omnivorous, most of the foods that we are adapted too are plant based foods, unlike meats, dairy, etc. Scientists compared not only the teeth of us and other omnivores, but the intestinal tract, and they found that humans were more closely related to herbivores. The meat and dairy industry often push a false image that these foods are a healthy for us, even though these foods do more harm than good. Milk, for example is advertised as a good source of calcium, even though are bodies can't process and use the calcium to our advantage, and it can often lead to digestion issues. Not to mention that the three foods above are the only ones that actually produce cholesterol in are body, one of the main causes of heart attacks and other heart diseases. When you watch TV, don't you notice the commercials of double stacked, cheesy bacon burgers from fast food chains, and then see heartburn and cholesterol pills? It's all just a marketing scheme to get your money and for what? So you can get obese and have heart issues? I can't think of a single good thing the industries have produce except the fact that their products taste good, but even then, that's the weakest excuse to take part in such a horrible practice that is one of the leading causes of climate change, and the reason why we still have world hunger. I watched a lecture (which I think every school should show to their students) and I'll link it down below. It may have some disturbing images and videos, BUT WELCOME TO REALITY (also it's kind of old, but bear with me, this is one of the most life changing videos I've ever watched)

One thing you can do is exercise for at least 60 minuets a day. Your heart quickens it’s beating when you exercise and keeps it healthy. When you don’t exercise for a long period of time only to restart your heart is out of practice and can have a hard time cycling oxygen through your body. The heart is like every other muscle it needs to be used as much as possible. Another heart healthy tip is to nutrient filled foods, stuff your heart and body can use.

Apparently, the heart beats about 2.5 billion times in an average lifetime. I thought this was fascinating, because, well, you have a timer on your life, give or take. Scary, but fascinating. Also, did you know that sleep impacts your heart's health? Me neither. Apparently, lack of sleep can increase the risk of developing high blood pressure. Too much sleep can also increase your risk. In short, about six-eight hours a night is recommended for a healthy heart. Sidenote: I just read the next assignment, we're all going to get heart disease...

Relating Back to earlier entries getting enough sleep can play a key role in keeping your heart healthy on a daily basis. As you get older this can be more and more important. In extreme cases mass lack of sleep can even lead to stroke and heart attacks. You can also be at a higher risk for cardio vascular disease no matter what age you are.

I learned that staying active regularly with cardio activity helps strengthen your heart. As well as keeping hydrated. Having healthy meals filled with veggies and protein can also make your heart nice and good. I did some jumping jacks and went for a run earlier and then had some chicken for dinner and I feel very refreshed and it doesn't make blood rush to my head when I stand up.

One of the most well known way to keep your heart healthy is to not smoke. Smoking causes the oxygen in your blood vessels to deplete and damages blood walls. It also increases the risk or heart disease which causes strokes. Smoking not only causes heart attacks but they also cause heart attacks and angina. When you smoke you also get these attacks and side affects at a much younger age than a person who does not smoke would.

I did research on how to keep a healthy. The website i chose was https://www.livestrong.com/article/26489-keep-heart/. To help your heart add fiber into your diet as this decreases high cholesterol. Sitting for long periods of time is very negatively affective and you need to add more exercise/ activity in you day instead. Avoid stress and frustration becuase this will likely lead to doing things that will increase heart disease. Lastly if you are at a unhealthy weight doing exercise and a healthy diet will decrese the high blood sugar you have.

Eating naturally red foods can be good for the heart according to "Better Homes and Gardens". They contain a special antioxidant that prevents cell damage, and reduces the risk of heart disease. Some examples are; strawberries, pomegranates, raspberries, watermelon, chili peppers, and red grapes. Other foods that are heart healthy include dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa), red wine, salmon, walnuts and avocado. Healthy fats are frequent on the list of "heart healthy foods".

Some ways you can remain heart healthy are by: Being smoke free, managing things like cholesterol, diabetes, and blood pressure. Also staying physically active and having an array of healthy food to snack and dine on. Your diet especially is important, as unhealthy food can clog arteries and cause heart failure.
